Love soaked Eagle Creek Park Maternity Session | The Buente Family | Indianapolis Documentary Style Photographers

August 27, 2025

I first met Bryce and Julianne years ago for their engagement session, and then had the honor of being their wedding photographer. Since then, I’ve watched their love story grow and evolve—last fall, I photographed them as a family of three with Liam full of personality and curiosity. Now, here we are again, capturing another beautiful chapter as they await the arrival of their newest little love. Watching my couples become parents and being able to document their families growth is one of the most special parts of this work, and this maternity session at Eagle Creek Park was pure magic.

The evening light draped the fields in soft gold, and there was this playful, joyful energy that felt so true to who they are as a family. Liam explored the grass and trees with the kind of unfiltered wonder only a child carries, while Bryce and Julianne laughed and snuggled close, soaking in the sweetness of this season. Julianne glowed in her soft blue dress, hand resting gently on her baby bump, while Bryce wrapped his arms around his family, every photo brimming with love. These moments are why I’m so passionate about being an Indianapolis documentary style photographer—because life’s most beautiful memories are rarely posed; they’re found in the genuine connections, the laughter, and the small, quiet gestures that tell your story.

I love photographing at Eagle Creek Park because it gives families the freedom to just be themselves. It’s a place where little ones can run wild and parents can slow down and really savor their time together. We let the evening unfold naturally, turning the session into something that felt more like a family adventure than a traditional photo shoot. That’s what I strive for as an Indianapolis family photographer: images that feel real, emotional, and timeless—photos that will hold the magic of these fleeting years for decades to come.

From their engagement to their wedding to their growing family, I’ve had the honor of documenting Bryce and Julianne’s story every step of the way. And as they prepare to welcome baby number two, I’m reminded again why I love this work so deeply: because photography is about connection, about preserving love in all its seasons, and about giving families heirlooms they’ll treasure forever.

If you’re expecting, or if you simply want to freeze time with your favorite people, I’d be so honored to tell your story. I specialize in documentary-style maternity and family photography in Indianapolis and beyond, creating warm, love-soaked images that feel like memories.
